Brewing Method

To prepare traditional Turkish coffee, combine one heaping teaspoon (~7 g) of ultra-fine coffee grounds per 70-80 ml fıncan of cold water in a cezve (Turkish coffee pot). Add sugar to taste (none, light, medium, or sweet) at this stage. Heat slowly over low heat without stirring once heating begins. Remove the cezve from the heat just as a dark foam (kaymak) rises to the top, before it boils. Spoon the foam into your fıncan, then return the cezve briefly to heat for a little more rise before gently pouring the remaining coffee.

Serving Suggestion

Turkish coffee is traditionally served in a small fıncan (60-80 ml), often accompanied by a glass of water to cleanse the palate and a piece of lokum (Turkish delight) to balance the coffee's richness. It is enjoyed slowly, allowing the fine grounds to settle at the bottom of the cup.
